APR24: Skill-Builder Scarf (knitting)

This scarf is the perfect project for newer knitters who are ready to stretch their knitting muscles and learn a few new skills. You will learn 3 different increase stitches, two decreases, basic lace, how to read a chart (there are also written instructions), and how to place a lifeline.  Whew, that sounds like a lot.  But don't worry, this relaxing and beautiful design looks way more difficult than it actually is.

Materials:  1-2 Skein Emma's Comfy Cotton DK (The pattern is written for 1-skein making a skinny scarf approximately 4" wide & 60" long.  The sample was made using 2 skeins for a wider, slightly longer scarf), US 6 (4mm) circular (24") or straight needles, Stitch Markers, Tapestry Needle, Scissors, Pattern available for purchase.

Skill Level:
beginner
Skill Details:
Beginner Friendly. Must know how to cast on, knit and purl. Participants should have basic knitting skills including casting on, knitting, purling, and binding off. Familiarity with simple lace knitting is helpful but not required.
