Ostrich Fern Cowl (crochet)

The Ostrich Fern Cowl has the look of a shawlette but without all the fuss. Thanks to some creative stitch combinations, this cowl sits nicely around your neck making it the perfect layering piece.

Materials:1 skein fingering weight yarn - at least 400 yards: Size F and G crochet hooks, Darning Needle, Scissors, Removable Stitch Markers. Pattern and practice yarn will be provided in class. Bring a 5mm hook to use with the practice yarn. Our sample uses Kim Dyes Yarn Napoleon Sock because of its excellent drape and silky sheen. Any fingering weight yarn will work for this pattern (solid, semi-solid or lightly speckled).

Skill Level: This project is rated advanced beginner/intermediate.  Participants need to be confident with all the basic crochet stitches, including increases and decreases. The ability to work a foundation single crochet is helpful, but not necessary.

Homework: None
