AUG17: Rainbow Shawl
This deceptively simple shawl uses a simple repeating pattern to make an impressive project. The shawl uses mosaic knitting, where slipped stitches allow colorwork while only using one strand of yarn on each row. This class will cover how to read the chart or the written instructions and all the stitches included in the pattern including knit front and back, slipping stitches, knit through the back loop and yarn overs.
Materials: 2 contrasting yarns (about 100 g of each- this will be 400 yards each of fingering weight yarn or approximately 200 yards each of worsted weight yarn. Note: The sample was made using Zauberball and Cascade’s Heritage Sock as the neutral), Needle size is dependent upon the weight yarn used – US9 32” or longer circular for Worsted, US7 32”circular or longer for Sport, or US6 32”or longer circular for Fingering Weight and pattern. Pattern is available for purchase in the shop.
Skill Level: Advanced Beginner, must be comfortable with knit, purl, cast on
